Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, costs, and quality expectations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges.
- Direct and mentor cross-functional teams, including subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
- Foster collaboration among team members to achieve project objectives.
- Resolve conflicts and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, budgets, and potential issues.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor budgets and financial performance to ensure cost control and profitability.
- Approve invoices and manage project-related financial documentation.
- Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
- Enforce safety standards to create a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Review construction documents, designs, and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance.
- Integrate innovative construction methods and materials to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the construction process.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Advanced certifications in project management or construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Over 10 years of proven experience in commercial and industrial construction project management. Demonstrated success in managing projects exceeding $10 million in scope and budget. Experience with design-build and preconstruction processes.
- Skills and Competencies: Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities. In-depth knowledge of construction regulations, materials, and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects in public sector or infrastructure development.
- Familiarity with Southern California construction codes and regulations.
- LEED accreditation or experience in sustainable construction practices.
