Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site project lead for all construction activities across multiple concurrent projects.
- Oversee daily field operations, contractor coordination, inspections, and progress tracking.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants, including Gensler for the Microgrid Build-Out.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Review and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
- Lead site meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support permitting, utility coordination, and regulatory processes as needed.
- Manage risk, identify issues early, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee project budgets, change orders, and documentation.
- Ensure seamless execution of: Solar/Battery PPA Project (Sept 2026–Sept 2027), Microgrid Build-Out (currently in design), Storm Drain Upgrade Project tied to a $20M insurance claim from 2022 floods.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of field-based construction or project management experience.
- Ability and willingness to drive to San Bernardino daily for on-site oversight.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, field coordination, and contractor management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within CSU (California State University) systems or similar institutional environments.
- Experience in solar, battery storage, microgrid, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with stormwater systems, civil infrastructure, or insurance-related reconstruction projects.
