About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead all aspects of assigned projects from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer focus in the context of advanced ceramics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished.
  • Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project.
  • Prepare designs and work specifications; develop schedules, budgets and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete.
  • Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
  • Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
  • Congduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
  • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project(s) and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects as defined by working with plant leadership.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.
  • Establish work plan for each phase of project.
  • Cookd and coordinate program activities including but not limited to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the program.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Experience: Prior project management experience. Up to 2 years of relevant manufacturing, R&D, or commercial experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills through prior on-the-job experience or professional project management training.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Team player with good leadership skills, excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Skills

  • Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management including use of information systems, engineering software, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
