Responsibilities
- Project Notification: Ensures customer is contacted within 48 hours of project award; reviews overall project objectives and timelines with customer and establishes ongoing communication strategy; ensures all required project information has been provided to Operations from Sales and Engineering; assigns project-related tasks within ConnectWise in relation to project timelines.
- Project Information Review: Reviews all information with key personnel to address questions and unknowns.
- Project Planning: Evaluates potential problems, impact, and solutions; coordinates resources, site access, PPE requirements and equipment; creates a project plan with specific milestones to achieve overall project budgets and timelines; assists in the creation of Gantt charts, Risk Register, Site Safety Plans as required; adjusts the project plan and communicates any changes for the duration of the project life cycle to all stakeholders.
- Project Review with Customer: Reviews system functionality, schedule, and plan with customer; oversees site walk-throughs to verify locations and identify safety hazards.
- Project Kick-Off Meeting: Leads project kick-off meeting and communicates the project plan and reviews all project milestones; oversees site walk-throughs to verify locations and identify safety hazards with the project team.
- Executing Project Plan: Performs consistent site evaluations, safety inspections and CEC quality assurances to ensure project plan compliance; mentors and corrects discrepancies; reports reoccurrences when necessary; communicates changes in the SOW and seeks Change Order possibilities; adapts project plan as needed; ensures project punch list and system testing is completed, coordinates customer training, and schedules documentation completion; assists CEC Sales/Engineering in pre-sales functions by sharing and/or compiling specific customer knowledge and design; assists with onsite training and mentoring of less experienced team members; works alongside the project team to ensure safety and quality objectives are met by adhering to industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Closing the Project: Performs customer walk-throughs; submits documentation, obtains customer sign-off and verifies completion for project fulfillment on all assigned projects.
- Post Project Meetings: Provides input on project management processes, procedures, tools, and best practice improvement; gives recommendations to Sales and Engineering on improvement areas and project successes.
- Service: Supports Service ticket completion as assigned and provides voluntary support to CEC’s 24/7 On Call rotation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Project Manager I leads the project team while they are working on assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology experience within CEC or a similar company.
- 3+ years of leadership experience within CEC or a similar company.
- 2 safety-related certifications.
- 1 industry certification (e.g., NICET, BICSI, CTS, etc.).
- Industry certifications and trainings can/will be obtained during the first year of employment to meet the minimum qualifications when applicable.

Other Skills & Abilities
- General knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
- PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders up to 12 feet high or be in a lift to extended heights.
- Ability to effectively speak and understand English language communications.
- Standing, walking, climbing, sitting, and use of hands and fingers.
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs; reaching, grasping, and carrying activities.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment; occasional outside activities subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
