Project Manager
About the role
Buckland is a customer-focused company that combines trusted technologies and talented people to provide global trade services including Customs Brokerage, Trade Managed Solutions, Freight Forwarding, Trade Technologies, and Warehousing/Distribution Services. This position is responsible for project management, stakeholder engagement, and delivering projects within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities
- Build and manage project schedules, obtain stakeholder buy-in, and set target completion dates.
- Engage project participants and sponsors to ensure active participation and alignment with project objectives.
- Identify and manage project issues, dependencies, and contingency plans.
- Establish clear ownership and accountabilities for project tasks and ensure adequate resources and tools.
- Lead project management initiatives by overseeing end-to-end processes, including planning, documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) development, training, and post-implementation optimization.
- Manage and evolve project charters, plans, and timeline-specific records.
- Facilitate the assembly of project definitions, scopes, estimates, and work breakdown structures.
- Work with the development team on project management behaviors such as Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting, preparing budgets, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action.
- Sourcing and training on new technologies and industry trends to achieve business objectives.
- Utilize Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Show meticulous attention to detail by ensuring accuracy and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- University Degree/College Diploma in Business Analysis, Project Management/IT Project Management, or relevant education in Business.
- Active PMP certification.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in Project Management fundamentals and methodologies.
- Provides leadership and ensures accountability for achieving results.
- Experience using project management software & standards – MS Project, Asana, Gantt Charts, Visio, etc.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment and familiarity with Agile events, working alongside Product owners, testers, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with limited resources and aligning with strategic directions.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Passport and ability/desire to occasionally travel to other offices in CAD/USA/MX.
Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- May require CAD or USA standard regulations knowledge and experience for some positions.

- Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).

Pay
$90,000–100,000 annually (subject to experience)
