About the Role

Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close out projects in pipeline, dredging, rock pad installation, bulkhead installation (steel and wooden), decommissioning, salvage, and D.O.T work.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage job kick-off meetings; disseminate all required information (MTO, drawings, specifications, etc.).
  • Maintain a comprehensive job file for each project, including:
    • Completed work orders/travelers
    • Customer-provided specifications and special instructions
    • Delivery tickets for free-issue items
    • Welding procedures and weld maps
    • Material requisitions and purchase orders
    • Material traceability documents
    • Non-destructive testing reports
    • Hydro test reports and charts
    • Paint specifications with daily paint reports
    • Loadout manifests
    • Any other pertinent project-related information
  • Confirm accuracy of material orders created during the bid phase or by the Project Coordinator prior to release.
  • Ensure all purchases include a Purchase Order number, and vendors reference the PO and BBI Job number on all invoices.
  • Maintain communication with customers (or their representatives) regarding delivery changes or project revisions; relay updates to the Project Coordinator and Project Superintendent.
  • Ensure all issued drawings and instructions include the Project Job #, Project Manager name, and Customer name.
  • Recognize, capture, and execute change orders for scope changes or additions.
  • Monitor project costs vs. budget and explain deviations.
  • Maintain and update the project schedule; issue schedule updates and progress reports to customers as required.
  • Create and maintain tracking documents (e.g., pipe trackers, equipment tracking, customer-supplied items) and update percent-complete status based on input from yard/field personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of all stored equipment and materials for customer-specific jobs.
  • Adopt a proactive project management approach through regular communication with Field Supervision.
  • Utilize a hands-on management approach by verifying critical project aspects against drawings and specifications; relay concerns to Field Supervision for execution.
  • Issue client surveys after project completion.
  • Obtain and file project completion photographs.
  • Formally report repetitive or substantial personnel issues (quality, accuracy, workmanship, or reliability) to the Construction Division Manager as they occur.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward customers and coworkers.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in a technical, business-related field, or Construction Management; or ten years of construction experience.
  • Seven years of minimum experience in project management/coordination of pipeline, dredging, rock pad installation, bulkhead installation, decommissioning, salvage, or D.O.T work.
  • Basic computer proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, MS Projects).
  • Effective communication skills with customers, managers, outside representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills; familiarity with marine construction and tug/barge operations is a plus.
