Position Overview

Bonitz, Inc., founded in 1954, is an Employee-Owned Company specializing in commercial construction services. We design and install custom flooring, walls, ceilings, and cladding systems, offering expertise in acoustical, metal, wood, and specialty ceiling systems.

Essential Duties

  • Communicate with Bonitz team, customers, vendors, and project team members
  • Act as the primary point of contact and hold responsibility for all aspects of installation projects
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all tasks, critical dates, client and third-party interfaces, and relations
  • Manage General Contractor (GC) relationships, attend construction meetings, and coordinate project schedules
  • Oversee field operations to ensure ceiling systems are installed per plans, manufacturer specifications, and acoustical performance requirements
  • Prepare and issue installer work orders; manage installation methods and material usage against estimates
  • Ensure the appropriate profitability of each project
  • Coordinate multiple installation crews and maintain job schedules
  • Verify quality of installation, work performance, and work order completion

Job Responsibilities

  • Pre-Construction: Partner with the Project Consultant and Estimator to assess ceiling scope, review construction and reflected ceiling plans, and determine materials, labor requirements, and project timelines. Coordinate material procurement with the Project Specialist and Warehouse, accounting for lead times on specialty ceiling components such as metal panels, wood systems, and custom baffles. Review contracts to understand expectations, change order processes, and contractual exclusions. Negotiate scheduling and payment terms with subcontractors performing ceiling installation work.
  • Construction: Manage General Contractor relationships, attend construction meetings, and coordinate project schedules — particularly sequencing ceiling installation around MEP rough-in, fire suppression, and above-ceiling inspections. Conduct ongoing site visits to identify and document conditions including substrate readiness, HVAC status, and plenum access. Oversee field operations to ensure ceiling systems are installed per plans, manufacturer specifications, and acoustical performance requirements. Prepare and issue installer work orders; manage installation methods and material usage against estimate sheets. Document and process change orders to protect project profitability. Perform required safety inspections and lead Toolbox Talks with crews on-site. Hold regular internal meetings to update team members on project status.
  • Post-Construction: Manage the completion of Punch-list and issuance of the warranty and maintenance files to the General Contractor. Analyze design, construction, and cost trends on completed projects to identify potential areas of improvement and savings and ensure integration into future pre-construction processes.

Travel

Regular job site visits are required. A monthly car allowance will be provided as a company benefit. Potential overnight stays for projects may be required based on the travel distance and time spent on site.
