About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will provide comprehensive project management and general management support across a range of engineering projects in the automotive sector. Working with the Engineering Manager and Sales Manager, you will help grow the business and maximize opportunities in the sector/region.
Responsibilities
- Manage jobsites for new installations and/or relocations of equipment and/or systems for key customers in high-pressure, high-quality production/manufacturing environments.
- Plan, control, and monitor projects internally and directly with clients.
- Provide accurate project reporting to the Operations Manager and maintain daily/weekly records and documentation.
- Produce estimates for change orders on projects.
- Liaise effectively between the client’s jobsite personnel and the B&P Operations Manager, including providing meeting minutes for site meetings.
- Achieve high profit levels through effective contract management, cost tracking, and financial control, ensuring efficient use of labor, sub-contractors, equipment, and plant suppliers.
- Report contract performance regularly, identifying and communicating potential opportunities, variations, and risks to the Program Manager.
- Develop positive relationships with clients and end users (if applicable).
- Ensure projects comply with Safety, Quality, and other Company systems and procedures.
- Maintain non-conformance and punch-list records, managing resolution and completion.
- Receive and document vendor-supplied goods.
- Conduct on-boarding and site-specific training for workers.
- Enable effective internal and external communication.
- Assist in improving and ensuring all on-site contract controls, labor management, and engineering standards are met.
- Follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience managing mechanical and electrical engineering projects, particularly installations of production equipment.
- Strong background in mechanical engineering.
- Proven commercial and project management skills, including negotiating, planning, estimating, costing, and quoting.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong numeracy skills.
- Experience managing small teams and controlling, organizing, and motivating internal labor and sub-contractors.
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and Risk Management processes.
- Strong financial skills, including cost and budgetary controls, accounting, and final accounts procedures.
- Project Management qualification or specific training.
- Ability to secure a contractor’s license(s) for the company.

Work Environment
A combination of office work and travel to jobsites. Must be willing and able to work at the corporate office in Spartanburg, SC, as well as travel to jobsites throughout the U.S.
