Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager will manage customer projects once awarded, focusing on safety, schedule, profit, and customer satisfaction. The role involves working closely with the project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule, highlighting critical path items and anticipating potential issues.

Responsibilities include providing oversight, evaluation, and improvement of the project management team’s efficiency, ensuring adherence to management principles established by the Senior Leadership Team. The Project Manager will participate in customer site visits, proposal development, and contract reviews to fully understand the scope, contractual obligations, and risks of each job.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Sales Representative from project development through execution, maintaining communication and documenting changes that affect job scope, schedule, or budget.
• Interact with customers, engineers, vendors, suppliers, and others during the design and planning phase of the project.
• Develop and maintain an overall project schedule, identifying critical path items and anticipating problematic issues.
• Foresee typical issues that historically challenge schedules, construction, and project costs, and work with the team to develop solutions.
• Regularly and accurately communicate project status, including schedule, financial status, risk assessment, quality, safety, and other key areas.
• Coordinate work crews and schedule required equipment.
• Travel as needed and manage field leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience to meet the essential duties listed.
• Working knowledge and understanding of engineering plans and specifications.
• Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of machinery, heavy construction, and industrial project flow.
• Proficiency in basic math and geometry.
• Demonstrated planning and leadership skills.
• Understanding of construction contracts and Windows-based software applications.
• Good time management skills.
• PMP certification is preferred.
