Auto-Owners Insurance offers a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial in-person training, this role may have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. All candidates must be able to work in one of our tech offices.
About the role
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Delivery Management Division as a Project Manager. This position involves managing the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of small, medium, and/or large-scale projects, which may include single or multiple projects with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Effectively apply project management methodologies and best practices.
- Identify resources needed and make recommendations to management for associates to address needs.
- Review high-level project-related documents before passing them along to stakeholders.
- Perform risk analysis and minimize risk exposure across multiple projects.
- Direct activities with other departments and divisions to meet project objectives.
- Assist in mentoring and training newer project managers, project leads, and senior project leads.
- Ensure that projects meet stakeholder objectives.
- Deliver project presentations to team members, stakeholders, and executives.
- Participate in project operational duties as needed based on team demands.
- Travel and attend meetings and seminars as required.
- Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere upon request.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Active participation in project management continuing education is preferred.

- Effective oral and written communication, with strong problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging, informative, and well-organized project presentations to various levels of the company.
- Ability to distribute tasks according to team members' skills and utilize their full potential.
- Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and recognize scope changes impacting multiple projects.
- Ability to consult on projects within or outside the division.
- Ability to seek improved methodologies and collaborate with other project managers for implementation.
- Ability to challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
- Ability to facilitate team meetings and handle project conflicts within and outside the team.
- Ability to understand complex project-related concepts.
