About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager in San Diego to oversee complex, large-scale multi-family housing projects focused on generating long-term community and workforce benefit.
Responsibilities
- Lead Project Lifecycle: Oversee all phases of assigned real estate developments, including site selection, feasibility studies, financial modeling, design, and construction oversight.
- Navigate Complex Financing: Manage funding stacks that utilize public subsidies, bonds, or LIHTC programs to deliver financially viable affordable and workforce housing.
- Agency & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface with development partners, consultants, community groups, and local governmental bodies.
- Ensure Compliance: Guarantee project adherence to all regulatory requirements, public contracting laws, and agency standards.
- Strategic Reporting: Present clear, concise project updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Significant Experience (5+ years): Proven experience leading complex real estate development or construction projects.
- Large-Scale Multi-Family Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-family housing projects, specifically those with a minimum of 20 or more units per project.
- Public Sector Fluency: Direct, hands-on experience working on affordable housing and/or workforce housing initiatives for a public agency (e.g., city, county, housing authority).
- Local Market Advantage (A Strong Plus): Prior work experience with the City of San Diego or a similar local municipality, providing immediate familiarity with local planning, permitting, and entitlement processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Real Estate, Planning, Construction Management, etc.).
