About the role
This position requires a proven team player who can build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, work effectively within a matrixed management structure, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintain responsibility and accountability for the new part introduction/launch process.
- Confer with customers or vendors to determine or review product specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
- Plan and formulate project specifications, costs, and equipment; determine time frames, procedures, and resource allocation.
- Work with various departments to assess manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, quality processes, and other procedures to ensure efficient production methods.
- Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
- Troubleshoot processing problems and vendor issues, providing technical advice to resolve them.
- Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
- Update the JobBoss database with revision and process changes.
- Evaluate parts for continuous improvements to increase quality and profitability.
- Monitor performance metrics to measure success by group and plant, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery goals are met.
- Read and interpret drawings and schematics.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in an automotive-focused manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience interfacing directly with customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with JobBoss or equivalent MRP systems, including inputs to ERP systems, bill of materials, routings, and hours.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.
- Self-directed, motivated, and capable of solving problems with a "can-do" attitude.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to safe working practices.
- Understanding of the importance of schedules and on-time delivery to customers.
