About the role

A full-service commercial architecture firm in Naperville is seeking a Project Manager to serve as the primary client contact across all project phases, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients across all project phases
• Facilitate timely and professional communication with owners, keeping them informed of project status, key decisions, and emerging issues
• Prepare and deliver regular project status reports to internal leadership and external stakeholders
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion
• Proactively identify scheduling risks or delays and implement corrective actions
• Participate in project planning and milestone reviews for team alignment
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and identify financial variances
• Communicate budget status and financial risks to leadership and stakeholders
• Coordinate project staffing and align team resources with project needs
• Oversee consultant teams to ensure timely and aligned deliverables
• Lead and mentor project team members to foster a collaborative environment
• Schedule and execute quality reviews to uphold firm standards
• Provide oversight of construction administration activities

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture
• 5+ years of professional work experience
• 3+ years of project management experience
• Experience managing commercial projects
• Ability to manage a small team and handle 10+ commercial projects simultaneously
• Experience working directly with clients

Work Environment

The position is based in Naperville, located near the 5th Avenue Station, with a team that operates 100% in-office. Core business hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, offering flexibility for employees to manage their schedules. The team currently consists of 11 members, with plans to expand to 13+ this year and next.

The firm specializes in commercial architecture, including auto-dealership work, office projects across various industries, and multi-family residential projects. The current workload includes a surge of projects across all three markets from both existing and new clients, encompassing renovations and new builds.

Pay

$90,000 – $120,000 per year
