Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description The Project Manager will lead large-scale HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects across Middle Tennessee, overseeing all aspects of planning, execution, financial performance, and delivery. This role requires a proactive leader who can coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while driving safety, quality, schedule adherence, and profitability. The successful candidate manages complex operations, resolves issues quickly, and ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities Lead large-scale HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.Oversee project execution and financial performance, monitoring costs, forecasts, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and effective collaboration.Manage project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools, proactively identifying risks and implementing strategies to maintain or recover timelines.Interpret and manage contracts and construction documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement on each project site.Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and general contractors, building strong relationships and maintaining clear, consistent communication.Resolve project issues quickly by assessing challenges, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.Review and utilize construction technology platforms, BIM models, and project management software to improve coordination, documentation, and reporting.Organize and lead project meetings, including progress reviews, coordination sessions, and issue-resolution discussions with internal and external stakeholders.Manage multiple projects and priorities independently, balancing competing demands while maintaining high standards of performance and accountability. Essential Skills Proven project management experience in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction, with a track record of success leading large commercial projects up to $30M+.Construction management experience with strong knowledge of commercial construction practices and processes.Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems and how they integrate into large commercial facilities.Ability to interpret and manage contracts and construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced construction environment.Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate diverse field teams and project stakeholders.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in scheduling, documentation, and financial tracking.Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess issues and implement effective solutions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting, documentation, and communication.Familiarity with project management software, scheduling tools, and construction technology platforms used to plan, track, and report on project progress. Additional Skills & Qualifications Construction-related degree or equivalent mechanical construction experience.Experience specifically managing HVAC and plumbing projects within large commercial environments.Experience working with BIM tools and models to coordinate mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems (BIM experience is a plus).Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.Comfort using modern construction technology platforms to enhance collaboration, documentation, and project visibility. Work Environment This role operates within large commercial construction environments across Middle Tennessee, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems in complex building projects. The Project Manager works closely with field teams on active job sites as well as in office settings, using Microsoft Office, project management software, scheduling tools, and construction technology platforms, including BIM, to coordinate and track work. The position involves regular collaboration with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams, requiring clear communication and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with multiple concurrent priorities and a strong focus on delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining professional standards and safe site practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
