About the role
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice is actively seeking a Project Manager to support active and future projects. This position will be located in a hybrid capacity in our San Francisco or Oakland, CA office.
Responsibilities include managing projects as well as supporting other Project Managers within the practice. In aiding current project managers, the goal is to learn clients with the intent to take over clients and programs in the future. This opportunity would support new and exciting small to medium-sized projects or participate on a management team for larger, more complex projects. The position includes working with interdisciplinary technical leads to coordinate the successful capture and execution of projects in design and construction.
Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact with clients.
- Prepare scope and fee proposals for multi-discipline projects.
- Direct professional and technical staff to complete a wide variety of architectural and engineering projects.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for execution of projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting client expectations with high quality.
- Develop and monitor a detailed project plan and schedule to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner.
- Manage change management.
- Maintain project documentation controls.
- Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate project meetings.
- Prepare and maintain the agenda with associated meeting minutes.
- Track and manage finances on projects.
- Lead and support projects through the full lifecycle from identification to capture, execution, construction, and closeout.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Engineering from an accredited university with +2 years of relevant experience in the A/E field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of related experience in the A/E consulting industry, with experience managing clients or projects.
- Civil Engineering background is preferred, but other engineering or architecture backgrounds are acceptable if there is a good understanding of other disciplines.
- Licensed PE (Professional Engineer).
- Experience working on A/E Design projects as a technical person or coordinator for Federal Projects such as DOD, NPS, or DOE, or for Municipal-based projects.
- Leadership and communication skills to coordinate multi-discipline teams.
- Accountable and self-driven to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to know which decisions to make or which ones to seek guidance on.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences.
Pay
The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000 yearly.
