Project Manager - Apron Systems
About the role
BNP Associates, Inc., a global leader in air transportation consulting and engineering, seeks a Project Manager to join their airport systems consulting team. This role offers opportunities to apply and grow skills in master planning, concept design, documentation, cost estimating, and on-site project management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for clients and contractors.
- Cook up with Project Designers to develop FAA/ICAO/IATA/User Airline-compliant gate layouts and apron system drawings using CAD/AviPlan and generic BIM models, along with related apron systems equipment specifications.
- Cook up with Designers, Project Engineers, Directors, and Executives to assign staff and develop all required reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and other Project Managers to find the best solutions for clients.
- Oversee discipline-specific requirements, including aircraft parking layouts and apron systems equipment design and commissioning.
- Manage on-site activities such as surveys, inspections, installations, and equipment sing.
- Supervise punch list resolution and provide start-up assistance.
- Maintain project budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Conduct and analyze system simulations for performance evaluation.
- Provide feedback to Designers and Project Engineers to ensure the quality and accuracy of reports, specifications, and drawing packages.
- Mentor and support Project Engineers and Designers to foster professional growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in project management (preferably in airfield layouts/passenger boarding bridges).
- Leadership and team-building experience with large design and development groups.
- Staff management and assignment skills.
- Exceptional client rapport and communication skills.
- Skilled in handling multiple responsibilities with efficiency and focus.
- Experience managing project logistics, timelines, and budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Data acquisition and compilation skills.
- Experience conducting field surveys, inspections, and equipment ss.
Preferred qualifications
- A background in mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering.
- Previous experience in conceptual and spatial coordination works with large-scale hub airports.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based in any of our U.S. offices, including Denver, Chicago, Dallas, Tampa, and Fairfield. The role requires occasional travel to airports within the U.S. for site-based work as well as travel to architectural and engineering partner’s offices. The successful candidate must pass criminal background checks and screening to obtain airport security badges. Standard 40-hour work week with occasional additional time required to meet deadlines.
Salary
$90,000 - $135,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
