Job Description

A Trainee Project Manager works with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role develops skills in scheduling, risk management, communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement while gaining practical workplace experience.

  • Assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating project activities.
  • Support projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Maintain project progress and report on performance, milestones and deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports and records.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
  • Assist with resource planning, budget monitoring and task allocation.
  • Identify and escalate project risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Support quality assurance, continuous improvement and lessons learned activities.
  • Work in line with organisational policies, legislation and governance requirements.

Hybrid Role

This role involves a combination of office-based work and visits to construction sites, including walking around active sites and travelling between locations.

K10 Apprenticeships Considerations

Typical Working Week

40 hours per week with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Person Specification

  • Proactive approach, taking pride in their work and taking accountability for decisions.
  • A love of variety in a role and ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to quickly prioritize tasks and the initiative to dive head-first into problem solving.
  • No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet to respond!
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teams.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences.
  • Ability to visit different sites and training days.
  • Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment.
  • Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols.

Minimum Requirements

  • English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 / C or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above.

Desired Requirements

  • Enthusiasm and a strong interest in project management, with a desire to develop a career in the field.

Key Training/College Information

K10 will enrol you to the Level 4 Associate Project Management course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider.

The apprenticeship duration is 18 months with up to 6 months for your End Point Assessment (EPA).

Eligibility

  • To start this apprenticeship, you’ll need to be:
  • Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status.
  • Not enrolled on any other courses.
  • 18+ due to site H&S rules.
