About the role

The Project Manager - AI Initiatives is a strategic role at the intersection of AI product development and enterprise transformation. The ideal candidate brings project management expertise, a working understanding of AI/ML product lifecycles, and the organizational fluency to drive both external AI product releases and internal AI engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle of AI product initiatives — from problem definition and business case development through development, QA, launch readiness, and post-release iteration.
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to define requirements for AI-powered product features, including model selection criteria, data dependencies, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI guardrails.
  • Build and maintain detailed roadmaps that account for the unique constraints of AI development: model training cycles, data availability, evaluation benchmarks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Carefully coordinate early adopter and general availability releases, including stakeholder alignment, documentation, and launch readiness across sales, marketing, legal, finance, and support.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and risks across concurrent AI product workstreams, ensuring milestones are met and changes are clearly communicated.
  • Drive Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban) across cross-functional teams — facilitating sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives adapted for AI development rhythms.
  • Manage a portfolio of internal AI engineering projects in support of the AI Program Office — including productivity tooling, workflow automation, and AI-assisted developer experience initiatives.
  • Coordinate across internal functional subject matter experts (engineering, IT, operations, HR) to scope high-value AI productivity use cases, define success metrics, and drive adoption.
  • Track program health, surface risks, and report progress to AI Program Office leadership with clarity and consistency.
  • Establish lightweight governance processes to ensure internal AI tools are deployed responsibly and maintained effectively.
  • Serve as the primary coordination point across product, engineering, design, QA, and go-to-market teams — providing direction, removing blockers, and ensuring alignment.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives.
  • Lead post-project retrospectives to capture lessons learned, evaluate outcomes, and continuously improve AI delivery processes and best practices.
  • Contribute to the maturation of the AI Program Office's operating model, tooling standards, and delivery methodology.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a complementary field — or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience in technical project or program management, preferably in a software product environment. Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional product development initiatives from concept through launch. Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent helpful but not required. Familiarity with AI/ML product development concepts — including data pipelines, model evaluation, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices — sufficient to ask the right questions and identify risks. Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Azure DevOps. Exceptional ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical complexity for non-technical audiences and vice versa.

Qualifications

While the range provides a general idea of the compensation, it is important to note that placements within the range are not automatic and will be carefully considered to ensure a fair and competitive offer. We are committed to rewarding talent and experience.
