Project Manager, Aerospace Transparencies

This is a fixed-term, fully onsite position in Sylmar, CA, anticipated to last 9 months, reporting to the Aerospace Site Lead, Transparencies Program Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of aerospace transparency projects across various programs from concept through production and sustainment, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams, customers, and suppliers regarding project status, milestones, and changes.
  • Collaborate and drive engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, R&D, and procurement teams to ensure seamless program execution. Responsible for constructing integrated project teams as required.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance project management practices, development, and/or manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Ensure all aerospace transparencies comply with relevant customer requirements, industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, MIL-STD), and internal quality requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular program status reports, including financial performance, schedule adherence, and risk assessments to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Aerospace-specific industry experience is ideal.
  • 3+ years of project management or engineering experience in aerospace or defense industries, with specific experience in transparencies or related components.
  • Knowledge of aerospace transparency materials (e.g., acrylics, polycarbonates, glass), manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000.
