About the role
As a Project Manager within our project management team, you will oversee the full lifecycle of various projects or programs, ensuring smooth execution from discovery to closeout. You will partner with stakeholders to define project scope, identify risks, and communicate issues and resolutions efficiently. Your role will involve creating detailed project plans, tracking progress, and providing transparent updates to executive leadership, sponsors, and team members. You will collaborate with IT managers to allocate resources effectively and manage vendor relationships, including monitoring deliverables and vendor accountability. Additionally, you will conduct quality audits, document lessons learned, and foster a collaborative team environment to meet project goals and benchmarks. This is a contract position with an opportunity for extension based on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire project or program lifecycle, from discovery through closeout.
- Lead stakeholder collaboration to finalize project scope and manage scope changes, issues, and risks.
- Develop, establish, and reinforce project management best practices and processes.
- Create and deliver status reports and executive summaries for stakeholders and leadership.
- Partner with sponsors to define and track financials, including budgets, forecasts, and variances.
- Build, coach, and motivate project teams, providing feedback and ongoing guidance.
- Collaborate with IT managers to determine resource needs and delegate tasks accordingly.
- Manage vendor tasks, monitor deliverables, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Conduct quality assurance and post-project reviews, logging lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience managing projects or programs.
- Proven expertise in project management tools and techniques, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and demonstrate good judgment.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and contract deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver's License.
Desired Skills
- Experience with project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2.
- Background in IT service management or security policies.
- Familiarity with Agile or other project delivery methodologies.
Pay
$56.00 – $80.00 per hour
