About the role
Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the AL Laptop Refresh Project for statewide Admin and Legal staff. Oversee procurement, configuration, scheduling, deployment, and close-out activities for new devices. Organize and coordinate a diverse, cross-functional project team-including technical, service desk, IT operations, information security, and asset management staff. Manage project schedule, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables throughout the project's life cycle. Oversee daily deployment logistics: device imaging, staff appointment scheduling, technician assignments, progress tracking, and resolution of deployment blockers. Partner with ITS refresh teams to ensure seamless hardware delivery, readiness, and deployment. Ensure compliance with OAG standards, statewide policies, and ITSAC contracting guidelines. Prepare and deliver regular status reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications. Maintain comprehensive project documentation (project plans, RAID logs, change control, acceptance criteria, and close-out materials). Capture lessons learned and support process improvements for future refresh projects. Communicate clearly and effectively with executives, technical teams, and end users. Utilize MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and workflow tools to manage project tasks and communications. The position is located in Austin, TX with a hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, for a duration of 10 months.
But we might split location/duration into Schedule section. However we already included location/duration in About the role paragraph; we could still have a Schedule section with the hybrid schedule and duration. But we must not duplicate content. The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. If we put location/duration in About the role, we still need to convey that info. Having a Schedule section would duplicate if we also mention it elsewhere. Better to put location/duration in Schedule section, and About the role focuses on responsibilities. But About the role currently includes many responsibilities; we could keep it as responsibilities section. Actually the heading "About the role" is for a summary; we could use that for Job Summary. Then Responsibilities heading for detailed duties. But we can combine. The instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we could have About the role (summary), Responsibilities (detailed duties), Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Schedule. That's several sections but each substantive. Let's decide: - About the role: Job Summary paragraph (lead end-to-end...). Could also include location/duration? Might be better to keep summary only. But we need to preserve location/duration somewhere; we can put in Schedule section. - Responsibilities: list of duties (maybe bullet list). Could extract from job summary and details. Use- .
- Requirements: Minimum Requirements.
- Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications.
- Skills: Tools and maybe technical skills (MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, workflow tools). Could also include expertise in SDLC etc but those are in Requirements. We'll keep Skills as tools.
- Schedule: location and hybrid schedule and duration.
We must not repeat content. Ensure we don't duplicate.
Let's craft:
About the role: Use the Job Summary sentence(s). Could be: "Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the AL Laptop Refresh Project for statewide Admin and Legal staff. Capture lessons learned and support process improvements for future refresh projects. Communicate clearly and effectively with executives, technical teams, and end users."
That's quite long but it's basically the job summary plus many duties. Might be okay.
Responsibilities: Could be a shorter list focusing on key duties not already covered? But we already covered many. To avoid duplication, maybe we keep About the role as summary (short) and Responsibilities as list of specific duties. Let's extract summary: "Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the AL Laptop Refresh Project for statewide Admin and Legal staff." That's the core summary. Then Responsibilities list the rest.
Thus:
