Project Manager 2 (Fire/Life Safety)

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven and forward-thinking Project Manager (Fire/Life Safety) to join our culture. In this customer-facing role, you will ensure projects are executed within budgeted cost and time schedules while maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Manage, oversee, and coordinate small to medium projects of moderate complexity from award through completion.
• Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans.
• Communicate project requirements to the project team and maintain accurate records of job status, changes, material flow, and other control records.
• Act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint Technologies remains the customer’s first choice for service.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies, and services to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion within budget.
• Establish project milestones and analyze costs.
• Perform limited managerial responsibilities, including overseeing subcontractor selection and work.

Requirements

• Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems).
• Initiative to engage in proactive behavior and seek opportunities and solutions.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
• Extreme adaptability; ability to respond effectively to changes and influence others using advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills with a leadership orientation.
• Strong financial analytical skills, including cost control.
• Solid team leadership, team building, and facilitation skills.
• Experience managing client relationships and communications.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 5-7 years in project management.
• Preferred (but not required): 5 years in relevant engineering, field service, or project management; experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation industries.
• Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI), industry-specific certifications, and/or licenses (e.g., FALNICET).
