About the role
Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage projects typically valued up to $1M, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manages many aspects of assigned projects from award through completion, including overall site management.
- Prepares project installation plan, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job procedures.
- Translates customer needs into detailed proposals and project implementation plans, and engages in project contract negotiation.
- Supervises project design engineering, installation labor, and subcontractors.
- Prepares project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, project invoices, and assists with collections.
- Communicates project requirements to the project team and wider organization, maintaining accurate job status records.
- Acts as "our customer's best service provider" at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice for service.
- Identifies and mitigates project risks, developing strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Communicates project schedules, change proposals, and related activities to the customer, seeking to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Manages procurement of materials, supplies, services, and controls necessary for timely and cost-effective completion of the project within budget.
- Establishes project milestones and analyzes costs, preparing timely and accurate project cost reports.
- Manages subcontractor selection process and work.
- Manages direct reports, if applicable.
- Performs other duties as requested or required.
Requirements
- Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and AV systems).
- Coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills; solid leadership orientation.
- Team leadership, team building, and facilitation skills.
- Initiative – engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities.
- Adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions; solid conflict resolution skills.
- Financial analytical skills including cost control.
- Basic ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
- Basic Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.

Qualifications
- Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
- Associates degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years relevant engineering, field service, or project management experience.
- Preferred experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or AV systems.
- Previous project supervisory experience.
- Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) certification; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Pay
$72,900 - $80,000
