About the role

This is a hybrid position located at the SEWS Farmington Hills, Michigan office. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, with flexibility to work off-site.

The role involves managing projects for SEWS Toyota wiring harness business, including creating and tracking a Project Master/Development Schedule, coordinating meetings, and ensuring project milestones are met for production preparation and launch targets. You will report project status to Business Unit management and key customer contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the project Master Plan (including overview and key target/KPIs) to kick off the project in SEWS.
  • Hold the project Kick-Off meeting to review the Master Plan, confirm the organization of supporting members, and initiate the timing plan (overall schedule).
  • Maintain the Project Master/Development Schedule by coordinating regular meetings to ensure all necessary actions align with designated milestones.
  • Act as liaison between W/H Development, Manufacturing locations, and related departments by sharing key information.
  • Issue and maintain important project engineering information (spec lists, new component lists, etc.) throughout the project.
  • Report project status (against planned timing/targets) to internal Upper Management and customer key contacts at designated intervals.
  • Provide timely responses to customer surveys and questions regarding project status.
  • Occasionally travel to engineering and/or manufacturing locations (both customer and internal) to support preparation meetings or build events.
  • Prepare the Project Reflection Summary at the conclusion of each project for future use and potential customer awards.
  • Support new business competition activity for Toyota projects, including coordination of the competition schedule and activities leading to final quote submission and technical presentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Project Management or a related Engineering Discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience with Project Management, preferably harness-related.
  • Bilingual capability (English/Japanese or Spanish) is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-standard hours for projects requiring communication with overseas contacts.
