Job Summary
About the role
The Project Leader I manages project feasibility, flow, and deadlines for new and enhanced product development initiatives under the direction of the Senior Project Leader. This role coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, aligning with strategic goals and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and understand detailed tooling and product drawings.
- Knowledge of sales/marketing, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in motivating and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Mitigate and escalate risks appropriately.
- Customer-focused with a collaborative, win-win mindset.
- Proficient with project management software and planning techniques.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Demonstrated Technical Skills: New-product development using injection-molding processes and manufacturing best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Developed team-building capabilities, effective decision-making skills (strategic thinking, problem solving, decisiveness).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Engineering required.
- 3-5 years project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Experience interacting with clients.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, injection molding and prototyping processes preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead product development projects.
- Participation in client meetings.
- Document scope and assess work complexity.
- Conduct risk assessments and generate reports.
- Lead project planning, define deliverables, and estimate timing.
- Lead cross-functional team performance.
- Provide plant support for pilot and production activities.
- Execute tactical plans under guidance of Senior Project Leadership.
- Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing departmental efficiency.
