Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document the Contractor's on-site activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, and environmental standards.
- Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFI's and change orders for technical accuracy and field applicability.
- Serve as a daily point of contact between the Contractor, Engineer, and Owner. Assist in interpreting plans and resolving technical issues as they arise in the field.
- Track project milestones, critical path activities, and identify scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Maintain daily field reports, photo logs, marked-up record drawings, and issue logs.
- Verify that all materials and equipment conform to approved submittals and are properly stored, handled, and installed.
- Attend progress meetings, site walks, and inspections. Provide field input for pay applications and monthly progress reports.
- Assist in enforcing quality standards and identifying corrective measures when construction deviates from design intent.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering (or related field preferred).
- 5+ years of relevant experience in construction observation, field engineering, or construction management-preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and utility infrastructure.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and field reporting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an inspector and/or project management role.
- Proficiency in inspection software and reporting tools.
