Responsibilities
- Identify deviations from the Safety Plan during the project by inspecting tasks, verifying correct procedure implementation, and following up on corrective measures in case of incidents.
- Prepare all internal legal and project-related documentation during construction and operational phases as the owner (SPV).
- Identify applicable health and safety legislation, standards, ordinances, and regulatory requirements and regularly assess compliance from the owner’s perspective.
- Order the suspension of work if, in their judgment, conditions pose a risk to worker safety.
- Generate non-conformities related to their area, reporting and monitoring their closure.
- Prepare and submit all required health and safety reports to the authorities, within the established deadlines.
- Participate in external audits and follow up on corrective actions.
- Review internal and client monthly health and safety reports.
- Attend internal and client follow-up meetings.
- Monitor occupational risk prevention programs.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance evaluations for the project.
- Follow up on incident investigations, identify root causes, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects in H&S aligned with Zelestra’s sustainability goals.
- Represent the company before regulatory authorities during inspections or official inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with the EPC’s Occupational Risk Prevention Plan.
- Advise the Health & Safety team and other departments to ensure legal compliance in H&S matters.
- Oversee the general management of the EPC’s health and safety team.
- Identify and manage non-conformities, as well as preventive and corrective actions.
- Hire external services as needed to ensure legal compliance.
Requirements
- Degree in "Occupational Risk Prevention Engineering" or a related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, specifically in field-based roles with similar responsibilities (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in positions related to the construction of renewable energy projects, electrical substations, and high-voltage lines.
- Experience in utility-scale photovoltaic plants will be highly valued.
- Certification or training in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems based on ISO 45001 (desirable).
- Valid Class B driver’s license (required).
- Availability to work on-site in Pozo Almonte (standard work schedule).
