About the role
Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer for our Sacramento, California office and also our Santa Rosa, California office. This role is ideal for someone with a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering and 8 - 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, particularly on infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a California P.E. license and a California G.E. designation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with multidiscipline team to prepare proposals and execute projects
- Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation
- Complete engineering analysis including: soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis, seismic hazard evaluation (including liquefaction and lateral spreading), and earth retention systems
- Partner with internal and external multidisciplinary teams during project development
- Prepare Geotechnical Engineering reports
- Prepare construction specifications and drawings
- Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects
- Positively interact with client representatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferably a Master’s degree)
- Professional Engineer license in California
- 6 - 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience - 8-10 is preferred
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of standard business software including MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with geotechnical software packages including L-Pile, Uni-pile, SHAFT, gINT, GRL WEAP, GEO STUDIO, MSEW, CPeT-IT, and CLiq preferred
Qualifications
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required

The expected salary range for the position is $91,000 - 120,000. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
