About the role
A Project Geologist is needed to join our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. The role involves managing project administration, setting objectives and policies, and assisting in resolving technical issues. Responsibilities include developing technical solutions, interpreting data, and conducting investigations.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes advanced scientific principles to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and ensures compliance with local, provincial, and national regulations.
- Works independently to establish project-specific objectives and policies.
- Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitable standard procedures.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
- May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field with 6 years of related experience.
- Master's degree in Geology or related field preferred.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Professional Geologist (PG) licensure, certifications, and/or accreditations preferred.
- Experience with Florida Department of Transportation projects.
- Experience with various drilling techniques, soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, and analytical data interpretation.
- Project Management experience.
- Proficiency in GIS software.
- Strong background in technical writing.
- Understanding of remediation consulting, including site investigations, corrective action studies, and site remediation.
- Experience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing programs.
- Current OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training.
- Familiarity with State and Federal Environmental Regulations.
- Experience with vapor mitigation systems, AS/SVE systems, pump and treat systems, chemical injections, soil blending, thermal remediation, bio-sparge, etc.
- Experience with various remediation technologies.
- Experience with PFAS investigations.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Geology or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
- United States citizenship is a requirement.
