About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Financial Analyst, Journeyman to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical project budget execution at the lowest task level.
• Manages project funding acceptance and execution.
• Oversees financial activities such as tracking the flow of funding through commitments, obligations, expenditures, return, and validating financial transactions in Navy ERP against division financial tracking tools.
• Analyzes financial execution data and identifies risks and mitigation strategies.
• Prepares cost-related insights to report variance in monthly plan versus actual expenditures and obligations.
• Develops expense and obligation plans at the lowest activity, sponsor, and appropriation level.
• Applies knowledge of DoD Federal Management Regulations (FMR), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and PPBE process.
• Utilizes Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) business and financial systems daily to extract, analyze, and interpret business and financial reports.
• Monitors execution, benchmarks, and carry-over funding for all systems/projects consisting of multiple funding appropriations and provides recommendations to assist with meeting expenditure requirements.
• Supports more experienced analysts by applying financial data analytics techniques to aggregate data and report at Branch levels.
• Supports and guides junior analysts using Excel-based financial tracking and analytical techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience in the functional area above, OR
• Associate’s degree and four years’ experience in the functional area above, OR
• Nine years’ experience in the functional area above and a high school diploma.
• DoD clearance.
