ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control and have at all times full knowledge of all financial movements within the project scope, ensuring they are correctly and accurately reported.
- Reconcile the onshore or offshore project results both within the project accounts and with respect to balance sheet positions related to the project.
- Support project management by providing accurate forecasts to complete, as well as providing options to reduce the overall cost base.
- Provide financial advice for project management in areas such as: Tax; Insurances; Hedging for FX risks; relevant financial and internal control rules; establishment of on-shore project; etc.
- Manage the billing and collections process associated with assigned projects.
- Maintain project financial milestones both internally and to the customer for on time invoicing and revenue recognition.
- Prepare quarterly financial project reviews for global business management; Request financial inputs from supporting centers and consolidate global project financials; Interact and communicate results with global project management team to ensure a thorough and comprehensive project review is achieved, including support of the local onshore units and full reporting of project claims and opportunities.
- Support business finance function in terms of reporting of Actual v Forecast performance (both PSM and on-shore unit scope), real-time updates during the month, preparation of monthly forecast details, and preparation of budget figures in conjunction with project manager.
- Manage project in business systems: accurate recording in SAP, issuance of invoices, maintain project in Project Accounting Tool.
- Support offer/tender team to draw up correct pricing/costing calculations, establishment of revenue and invoicing milestones, handover from tendering to execution teams.
- Manage all bonds and other guarantees associated to the projects.
- Ensure that all project activities follow the implemented process.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Training: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in either Accounting or Finance. Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix.
- Skills/Experience: 5+ years of experience of project accounting / controlling. Experience with long term contract accounting. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively across functions. Commercial awareness, and proven ability to work with sales / tender teams. Financial instrument knowledge (hedges, bonds, LD’s, etc). Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). SAP or ERP finance modules knowledge a plus. Fluency in written and spoken English a requirement. Strong team player with a proactive attitude. Adaptable and reliable individual with a precise and accurate working style. Strong communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving.
