Project Executive - Manufacturing
About the role
You Network with new and existing clients, architects, and engineers to identify and secure new work opportunities; represent Choate Construction through presentations, meetings, industry events, and relationship-building activities that promote the company’s reputation; initiate and maintain strong client and partner relationships to support successful project execution, long-term satisfaction, and the continued growth of Choate’s client base and market presence.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong, professional communication—both written and verbal—when interacting with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors;
- Serve as a trusted owner advocate and collaborative partner who positively influences team dynamics;
- Act as a fair, reliable point of contact that supports project success and business development;
- Become a steward by being approachable, mentoring others, and actively supporting the growth and success of all project team members.
Requirements
- Lead and oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and Safety Managers in the development, implementation, and continuous maintenance of Project Specific Safety Plans (PSSPs);
- Conduct and document monthly safety reviews, proactively address evolving jobsite hazards, and recommend corrective actions;
- Respond immediately and effectively to jobsite incidents in alignment with company policy;
- Consistently model a strong personal commitment to safety with the clear objective of sending every worker home safely each day.
Qualifications
- Lead and oversee all contractual and risk-management activities by establishing contract formats;
- Partner with the DM on owner contract negotiations;
- Maintain and communicate key contract terms to project teams;
- Review, approve, and resolve all subcontracts and purchase orders in compliance with project goals and company policies;
- Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve contract, legal, and risk-related issues in collaboration with the DM and Corporate Counsel;
- Ensure project teams protect Choate Construction’s interests related to cost, schedule, and overall risk exposure.
Skills
- Collaborate with Preconstruction leadership to develop bid strategies, schedules, pricing, and procurement objectives;
- Lead operational responses to RFPs, design-assist/design-build pursuits, and key estimating activities while providing strategic input on logistics, means and methods, and BIM utilization;
- Provide comprehensive financial oversight for assigned projects by reviewing and approving budgets, monthly cost reports, owner pay applications, change orders, and all subcontractor and supplier payments to protect both client and company interests.
