About the role

The Berg Group is a specialty contractor based in the upper Midwest with over 50 years of experience. We offer integrated solutions in pre-construction services, interior/exterior framing, and finishes. Our headquarters is in Minnesota, with additional offices in Naples, Nashville, and Austin.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, lead, and develop a world-class project management team in alignment with company values.
  • Oversee contract values, budget, projected cost, change orders, billing, and collections—hold teams accountable to ensure accuracy and correct management.
  • Maintain and enhance contractor relationships to build new business and be involved in new market development.
  • Manage and grow key client relationships in their designated market.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings to understand the complete scope while ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.
  • Review scope of work and identify any potential risks or scope gaps from estimate to award.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of projects and exceed set standards for their portfolio.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all pertinent information is provided; provide advice and direction as needed to their Project Team.
  • Project manpower needs to leverage resources, utilizing the information for additional/future projects.
  • Involved in the debriefing of a project.
  • Financial management of the project portfolio, review WIP and billing, and financial closeout of the project(s).
  • Proactively promote company solutions within target markets and client base.
  • Build key client relationships, network, and interact with clients and other building professionals associated with company business.
  • Provide clients with regular progress updates and submit budget reports.
  • Spend significant time collaborating with contractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other building specialists.
  • Participate in the development and execution of Berg’s strategic and business plan including achievement of key objectives.
  • Establish and develop relationships with employees, including the company management team, as well as external partners and stakeholders.
  • Support and continuously improve Berg’s high-performance culture.
  • Provide visionary leadership for new ideas and approaches and humbly welcome ideas to innovate and better Berg from all levels of the organization.
  • Develop trust and maintain a collaborative and supportive leadership presence with your Project Management team.
  • Participate in and support recruitment, hiring, onboarding efforts as appropriate to develop an exceptional regional team.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that enhances employee satisfaction, engagement, and results-orientation while encouraging innovation and creativity.
  • Provide time for regular and effective 1-on-1 meetings with all direct reports.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with direct reports regularly.
  • Establish and achieve specific, measurable, and obtainable objectives that support Berg's overall growth and profitability objectives while creating client, employee, and company success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience is required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the interior and exterior construction scopes of work, including the drywall/steel stud framing industry.
  • Experience with pre-fabrication is a plus.
  • Analytical mind, attention to detail, and ability to make impromptu decisions based on objective criteria.
  • Proven experience in planning and budgeting.
  • Outstanding management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
