About the role

The Project Executive provides executive leadership and full accountability for assigned construction projects from pursuit and preconstruction through completion and closeout. The PX is ultimately responsible for project outcomes and serves as the senior leader for the client relationship, project team performance, and financial success. This role is designed to coach and support project teams, remove obstacles, hold both internal teams and clients accountable to contract obligations, and ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ultimate responsibility and decision-making authority for assigned projects.
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Lead risk and opportunity discussions and proactively address potential claims or performance issues.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Hold clients accountable to contract deliverables while ensuring RLG fulfills all obligations.
  • Maintain client relationships beyond project completion to support repeat work.
  • Assist in resolving client concerns and escalated issues through executive-level engagement.
  • Support business development by assisting with opportunity qualification, proposal strategy, and interview preparation.
  • Review and approve estimates, schedules, scopes, and staffing plans prior to project start.
  • Participate in owner contract review and negotiation, including key terms, schedules, and risk provisions.
  • Verify project financing, insurance, bonding, and special contract conditions before execution.
  • Lead or support project kickoff meetings and early alignment with project teams and clients.
  • Coach, support, and provide development input for direct reports and project team members.
  • Clear roadblocks and provide executive guidance to enable team success.
  • Promote interdependency and collaboration across RLG operating groups.
  • Lead post-project reviews and lessons-learned discussions.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working in the construction industry and project management.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing complex projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost controls, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence outcomes, and manage executive-level client relationships.
