About the role

As a Project Executive at Clune Construction, you will lead the planning, coordination, and completion of construction projects. This role involves full responsibility for all phases of construction, from budgeting and bidding to cost control, client relations, and closeout. You will lead both internal and external project teams throughout the project life cycle, ensuring financial goals are met. The Project Executive is a key player in client relationships and national accounts, and participates in staffing decisions with Office Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in RFP responses, including developing presentations and leading pitches.
  • Engage in business development and client relationship management by organizing client events and fostering relationships with designers and clients to assist with budgets or existing condition reviews during schematic design and preconstruction.
  • Develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers through guidance, coaching, and mentoring on complex project issues.
  • Oversee cost control and change management processes, ensuring accurate cost tracking, monthly forecasting, timely resolution of billing and receivable issues, and proper communication of budget changes to clients.
  • Generate new project leads and bid opportunities by maintaining contact with current and past clients and building relationships with potential future clients, designers, and building managers.
  • Contribute to company growth by participating in intern or candidate interviews and the Mentoring Program to share skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Develop and lead training classes on industry best practices, technical skills, and human skills.
  • Participate in staffing decisions with Office Leadership.
  • Mentor team members, foster growth opportunities, and address performance or disciplinary concerns with Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.
  • Propose title and pay changes when applicable.

Requirements

  • Conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and team-first attitude.
  • Highly motivated with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate and interact with high-end clientele.
  • Strong estimating and budgeting skills, including preparing and submitting responses to lump-sum bids.
  • Proficiency in drawing review.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must provide references and a project list.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is preferred; strong work experience will be considered.
  • 13+ years of construction project management experience, with 5 years specifically in commercial construction.
  • Experience managing all aspects of field operations, including scheduling, quality control, and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Solid background in construction trades and technical knowledge.

Pay

Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000. The range reflects potential earnings for this position. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity. It is not common for candidates to be hired at the top of the range.
