Project Estimator
Description
We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented Project Estimator II to join our project estimating team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing and managing cost estimates for various projects, focusing on accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the field of project estimating.
Day to day responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for new and existing projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary construction plans to support estimating scope quantification.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Perform value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to account for potential project uncertainties.
- Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients.
- Cook up with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the best value for the company.
- Track project costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle, updating estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope, design, or market conditions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in all estimating activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior team members.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in the field of project estimating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or practical experience in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cost estimation software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar).
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a standard office environment.
- Occasional travel to project sites for meetings, inspections, and collaboration with on-site teams.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
