Project Enginner

About the role

A long-established, family-owned mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and closing construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, engineering teams, and field activities to keep projects on schedule, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.
• Build and maintain product submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, as-builts, O&M manuals, and project logs.
• Prepare subcontractor contracts, change estimates, transmittals, and change orders for Project Manager review.
• Conduct weekly site visits to verify installations, inspect shipments and fabrication, and document completed work.
• Participate in preconstruction, QA/QC, startup, commissioning, and cross-training activities while promptly communicating safety, schedule, design, or cost concerns.

Requirements

• 0–5 years of experience in construction or related trades; BSME or Construction Management degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of or willingness to learn HVAC/plumbing design, estimating, scheduling, purchasing, accounting, and project management software, including Excel, Word, Bluebeam, BIM360, and Microsoft Project.
