About the role
The Project Engineer (PE) supports the Project Manager (PM) and Superintendent (Supt) throughout all phases of a project. Key responsibilities include managing the submittal and RFI processes, preparing change order proposals, conducting research, and assisting with budget revisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the submittal process
- Manage the RFI process
- Manage the change order proposal process
- Provide research, backup support, legwork, and data entry as requested
- Complete budget revisions and modifications in Viewpoint as required
- Aid in maintaining safety standards aligned with Abbott's core values
- Offer support for project planning, scheduling, and coordination
- Support the estimating department by soliciting subcontractors and managing plans
- Be the primary point of contact for subcontractors as needed
- Act as a Project Manager when necessary
Requirements
- Strong negotiation and leadership skills
- Understanding of accounting, financial statements, job cost, and cash flow
- Pass a drug test
- 4-year degree in a construction-related field
- Motivated for a long-term career in construction
- 2 years' project engineering experience
- Prior experience in healthcare construction and managing multiple projects concurrently preferred
- Focus on following processes, taking ownership, and handling difficult conversations

Pay
The full salary range for this position is $78,000 to $105,000. This position is eligible for a target bonus.
