Job Summary
Flandco Project Engineers are responsible for assisting Project Manager and Superintendent by performing delegated administrative and technical work assignments. They maintain accurate and organized project documentation, update project logs and databases, assist in writing/reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders, represent the company in project meetings, and assist in developing and maintaining the overall project schedule.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager in writing/reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review thoroughly the Project Documents and familiarize with Project participants to facilitate productive operations.
- Represent the company in project meetings, as needed.
- Aid in determining submittal requirements and prepare/submittal logs.
- Expedite materials/equipment from pre-approval to final delivery to ensure correct materials/equipment are delivered to meet the project schedule.
- Make regular site visits to observe and inspect the project's progress and quality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and directed by a supervisor or other authorized person.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
- Knowledge of methods and technology to determine proper construction sequencing, procurement planning, and review and correct submittals.
- Ability to maintain, inform, and communicate with the construction team.
- Ability to make informed decisions on behalf of the company and know when to seek assistance.
- Knowledge of and application skills in Geometry, Trigonometry, and Algebra.
- Working knowledge of computers and standard company software.
- Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Education
- Associates Degree or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and related experience.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in construction management within Utility Scale Solar projects.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.
- Sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, moving machinery, high, precarious places, close tight quarters, rough and sloped terrain, fumes or airborne particles, drilling and blasting activities, welding activities, toxic or caustic chemicals, potential falling rock, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, vibration, noise level in the work environment, and risk of marijuana testing.

- The office provides a safe and healthy work environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free.
- May be required to work long hours for extended periods of time.
