Project Engineer - Transportation Engineering

Position Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of assessment of roadways and drainage structures
• Develop design plans for projects of varying complexity, ranging from pavement overlays to roundabout design
• Complete construction inspection of road and bridge projects

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundamentals to real-world projects
• Ability to learn and interpret INDOT Design Manual and Standard Specifications
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
• If an employee plans to use their own vehicle in the scope of their employment with Shrewsberry, they will be required to provide proof of insurance and a drivers license

Preferred Experience

• Ability to become licensed Professional Engineer within 4 years
• 2+ years of experience in the inspection of civil heavy highway projects
• Experience working on design of INDOT or Federally Funded LPA projects
