Project Engineer - Solid Waste

Responsibilities
- Leverage engineering and design expertise to support the Coconut Creek and/or West Palm Beach team within our established solid waste practice.
- Deliver engineering services to private and municipal clients in the landfill, landfill gas, compost, and solid waste management sectors.
- Tackle projects requiring innovative solutions for stormwater management, industrial wastewater treatment, air quality improvement, landfill gas systems, environmental compliance, permitting, design, construction, operations, and environmental monitoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering, or related major required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil or environmental experience required. Consulting experience in solid waste industry, including landfill gas management and design, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting, etc., preferred.
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE) required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay
USD $85,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
Schedule
Day trips or overnight travel (20% of travel expected)
Skills
Intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.
Business Development
Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.
Quality Control
Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
Field Work
Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, sample collection, drilling oversight, etc.
Office-Based Tasks
Office-based tasks include CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
Travel
Travel (day trips or overnight, 20% of travel expected)
