Project Engineer - Site/Civil Renewable Energy
Weston & Sampson is seeking a motivated and driven Project Engineer to support renewable energy projects throughout the Country. Our growing Energy Practice seeks thoughtful and innovative individuals who truly want to make a difference enhancing, protecting, and sustain the natural and built environment to improve the quality of life.
About the role
This position will support the permitting, design, and construction phases of renewable energy development projects in the Mid-Atlantic region or our Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, or Richmond offices.
Responsibilities
- Perform site civil, land development, stormwater, utility designs, and specifications to support solar or other renewable energy development projects, including construction observation or administration.
- Prepare and submit permit applications in support of the project development, representing our municipal and private clients.
- Conduct presentations at public hearings to support the permit applications for land use projects.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate multiple disciplines, and collaborate with multiple staff members in a team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with HydroCAD and other stormwater modeling software.
- Strong skill set with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites.
- Experience on renewable energy projects is a plus.
- Possess high ethical standards and a commitment to producing high-quality work with a focus on teamwork, respect, and integrity.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

Pay
Salary range: $85,000–$110,000.
