Project Engineer, Senior - Configuration Data Management

About the role

The Project Engineer - Configuration Data Management will play a crucial role in coordinating planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the FBM program. This position requires experience in Configuration and Data Management (CDM) processes, procedures, and tools supporting the FBM program implementation of new and existing hardware documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases, and coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
• Establish change orders and prepare change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
• Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
• Coordinate modification records for management control.
• Review engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and others.
• Ensure customer requirements are implemented, approvals are captured, and comply with configuration management policies.
• Provide general coordination and implementation of CDM requirements, policies, and practices pertaining to configuration identification (i.e., baseline documentation, hardware, and software).
• Process CDRLs/SDRLs in accordance with the Contract SOW, Subcontract’s SOWs, 1423s, and DD250s.
• Handle classified documents and ensure compliance with DOD Contract requirements.
• Support the FBM team members with markings, formatting, and handling of any documentation as necessary.
• Manage the release process of documentation, capturing Electronic Data Files in classified and unclassified areas.
• Support and process program design & change management production and development design information using LM Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) workflow, including the use and implementation of associated change objects such as Change Tasks (CTs), Change Requests (CRs), or Change Notices (CNs).
• Facilitate drawing and model reviews using design and Product Data Management tools like EPDM.
• Use Microsoft Office proficiently and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Secret Security Clearance
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance

Qualifications

• Understanding of Configuration Data Management (CDM) and integrating and implementing CDM program requirements.
• Understanding of Production and Development programs.
• Knowledge of Configuration Management hardware /design work.
• Familiarity with reading and understanding Contracts.
• Familiarity with working with CDRLs and SOWs.
• Familiarity with working with Sub-Contractor SDRLs and SOWs.

Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of EIA-649, the National Consensus Standard for Configuration Data Management.
• Experience with design and Product Data Management tools like EPDM.
• Experience with SharePoint, LiveLink, or other workgroup collaboration tools.
• Experience with electronic data vaulting and digital data handling using ePDM.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Government or Military customer experience and/or an understanding of DOD Contracts.
