About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer in the heavy civil/roadway construction field to provide technical engineering information to project supervision and crafts, ensuring construction work complies with all safety regulations, engineering standards, codes, and specifications. This project is located in the Jacksonville, FL area and will primarily focus on drainage and roadway construction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure construction crews comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Review project contracts, plans, and specifications in their entirety.
  • Prepare project schedule and monthly updates.
  • Prepare quantity reporting, project costs, cash flow projections, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve project challenges, conflicts, and/or technical issues.
  • Prepare and submit prime and subcontractor change orders.
  • Manage document control including submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain technical submittal list, NPDES permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and project progress schedule as required.
  • Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, and claims.
  • Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plans and/or specifications affect products or services.
  • Assist with project closeout.
  • Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's direction.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management.
  • 4 or more years of experience in the civil construction field on roadway project(s).
  • Specific experience in roadway construction and drainage.

Pay

$85,000 - $95,000+ commensurate with experience.
