Project Engineer - Retrofit (San Marcos)

Control Air Enterprises, an employee-owned company (ESOP), is looking to add a dynamic and results-driven person to our Retrofit & Energy Group. Our team specializes in design-build, turnkey mechanical projects for both the commercial market sector and ESCOs (energy services contracts). We develop conceptual projects that save energy, water, and other natural resources. Once the project is accepted by the client, our team collaborates with in-house engineering to select equipment, design, and execute the project. This role is based in our San Marcos office.

About the role

The ideal candidate will act as the liaison between the department head, field operations, and the project accounting team to ensure efficient project execution and customer satisfaction. You will interface with clients both remotely and in person to meet project objectives and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare internal documents for project setup
• Prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, RFIs, logs, change orders, etc., for project execution
• Coordinate project billings with the accounting team
• Conduct site visits to understand scope, evaluate progress, and gain firsthand experience
• Work with operations to coordinate equipment, manpower, and subcontractors per project schedule
• Ensure project control procedures are maintained and assist in developing additional controls as needed
• Other tasks as assigned

Pay

$35–$45 hourly
