Project Engineer - Reno
About the role
This position supports day-to-day project coordination across all phases of construction. Responsibilities include managing RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project tracking logs; preparing and distributing meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up items; assisting with permitting efforts, procurement activities, and project closeout documentation; tracking procurement timelines and long-lead materials; participating in safety meetings, QA/QC processes, and field walkthroughs; coordinating with subcontractors; and documenting site progress and existing conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project tracking logs to ensure timely execution and accurate recordkeeping
- Maintain current drawing sets, contract documents, and overall project documentation
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up items while keeping teams aligned on project deliverables
- Aid in permitting efforts, procurement activities, and project closeout documentation
- Track procurement timelines and long-lead materials, escalating potential delays or issues to project leadership when necessary
- Contribute to schedule updates, progress reporting, and overall project planning efforts
- Support inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and ongoing jobsite coordination
- Coordinate with subcontractors and assist in leading meetings as directed by the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Maintain organized project records within Procore and utilize Bluebeam and Microsoft Office tools for reporting, communication, and document management
Requirements
Associate degree required; degree or coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Six months to three years of construction management experience, including internships or co-op experience, is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents. Self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are also required. Proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting project priorities is beneficial.
Qualifications
The successful applicant must have reliable transportation and be willing to work on active construction job sites.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, knowledge of Bluebeam, and experience with Procore are preferred. Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills are essential.
