About the role

The Project Engineer PLM Specialist plays a key role in leading and advancing the company's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment using PTC Windchill. This position is responsible for driving PLM enhancement initiatives, improving system functionality and user adoption, and supporting efficient engineering and product development processes. Serving as a central point of coordination across engineering, IT, manufacturing, and quality, the Project Engineer helps ensure data accuracy, configuration control, and the successful execution of PLM-related projects and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain PTC Windchill PLM.
  • Lead mid-scale PLM enhancement projects from scoping through implementation, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to improve system capabilities, streamline workflows, and support business objectives.
  • Lead and support Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Change Notices (CN) within Windchill.
  • Oversee CAD file structures, version control, and release processes for Creo and other integrated tools.
  • Identify inefficiencies in engineering workflows and implement improvements using Windchill capabilities.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting support to users.
  • Ensure all product documentation meets configuration management standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering tasks, track project milestones, and support product development schedules.
  • Maintain accuracy of BOMs, metadata, and product structures within Windchill.
  • Collaborate with IT on integrations between Windchill, ERP, MES, and CAD systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering or PLM-related roles.
  • Experience with PLM systems (Creo / Windchill, NX / Teamcenter, CATIA/ENOVIA).
  • Familiarity with Creo or other CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management, BOM structures, and change control.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with PTC Windchill.
  • Experience with Windchill workflows.
  • Understanding of ISO, AS9100, or other regulated engineering environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or product development teams.
  • Experience leading mid-scale project initiatives, including cross-functional coordination, stakeholder alignment, and implementation planning.
  • Experience supporting change management efforts, including process adoption, user communication, training, and implementation of new PLM workflows or system enhancements.
