About the role
As a Project Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you’ll play a key role in the structural design process—supporting projects from concept through construction. This role offers hands-on experience with design and analysis tools, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to grow your technical expertise while learning project management fundamentals.
What You'll Do
- Perform structural design and analysis using tools such as Revit, Rhino, ETABS, and SAP.
- Affirm drawings, calculations, and documentation for design deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and other design team members to ensure design alignment.
- Conduct field observations and inspections under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and project documentation.
- Contribute to project planning and scheduling discussions with Project Managers.
- Apply knowledge of structural codes, standards, and materials to design solutions.
- Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing drawings and checking design accuracy.
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in structural design or analysis preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic engineering team.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and five (5) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE;
- or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and three (3) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
- Three years of relevant experience in analyzing building structures using computer modeling methods and preparing structural calculations.
Minimum (Required) Skills
- Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
- Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
- Experience working in Revit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving and team skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) license.
- Experience working in Grasshopper, a plus.
