Project Engineer - Mechanical Insulation

About the role

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its mechanical insulation operations based in Lenexa, KS. This position is safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
• Prepare RFI’s and submittals
• Complete quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation
• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
• Assist in other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience supporting or managing construction projects
• Experience working with Mechanical Insulation scopes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
• Clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying them as learned
• Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently
• Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
• Works well under pressure and deadlines
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
• Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
• OSHA certification
• Local to the Kansas City metro

Pay

Salary range of $75,100 - $101,000 plus a non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.
