About the role

This full-time, exempt position is based in our Houston, TX or Canonsburg, PA office. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Up to 30% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Primary Requirements

  • Lead project design coordination with internal engineering departments, external engineering agencies, Site Contractors, and Client Site Engineers.
  • Coordinate engineering document submissions to customers and vendors.
  • Expedite engineering deliverables and document requests from the Client.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the site office between Client, Site Contractor, and Aquatech.
  • Provide status, control, and progress reporting support services for all site activities on the project.
  • Attend scheduled review meetings and daily site meetings with the client.
  • Support correspondence with customers via the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the supervision of construction activities at the site during the construction phase.
  • Conduct site visits during the construction phase.
  • Verify project progress and prepare the monthly progress report for site works.
  • Expedite critical engineering solutions during the construction phase and work as an integrated team with the Client and Site Contractor.
  • Ensure any Client design changes are properly communicated to the project team and managed through the change management control process.
  • Oversee as-built documentation for the project.
  • Solicit inputs from Site contractors on the progress of the project schedule.

Secondary Requirements

  • Preparation of project documents.
  • Review of project specifications.
  • Maintain the Project Master document list.
  • Facilitate timely engineering reviews of vendor quotes.
  • Review vendor quotes and purchase requisitions for compliance with project specifications.
  • Responsible for accurately reporting engineering progress in the project schedule.
  • Coordinate the collection of necessary inputs to the 3D model and resolution of issue tags.
  • Assist in updating the Primavera P6 schedule weekly with inputs from contractors.
  • Vendor follow-up and expediting.
  • Periodic vendor visits to monitor progress.
  • Internal communication with all departments.
  • Track material status in SAP and update project status.
  • Preparation of packing slips and related shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering responses to RFI from subcontractors.
  • Work autonomously without constant guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
  • Five (5) years of experience in a project-related industry preferred.
  • Prior water/wastewater infrastructure project experience preferred.
  • Excellent math skills, applied creativity, mechanical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-oriented, customer service-driven, and attention to detail.

Skills

  • Able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Interpreting specifications related to engineering equipment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Decision-making ability and leadership skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP software.
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Experience with MS Projects and Primavera P6.
  • Ability to navigate 3D models through Navisworks.
  • Experience in using estimating software like RS Means, Sage (formerly Timberline) is an advantage.
